Kappelnuten is only about 600 meters from the center of Åmot, and is a lovely little peak with panoramic views of the village. This is a great place to take in the view of the town center – or enjoy a colorful sunset on quiet summer evenings.
A nice little leg stretch for those who charge electric cars in Åmot and want to use the charging time for a short hike close to the city center.
From Kappelnuten you can easily follow the clearly marked trail to Fonnlinuten. The delightful hike is about 2.7 kilometers long, and when you reach the summit at 650 meters above sea level, an even wider view of Åmot awaits. The short but steep climb in the final stretch gets your heart rate up a bit, but the reward is well worth the effort.
