Welcome to a fall concert in idyllic and artistic Smørklepp!
Les meirThe play “Solplomme” was written for the Ørsta Festival in 2023 and had a grand premiere at a seat in Romedalen.
Now the work is coming to Telemark and will be performed at Smørklepp Art Museum on Sunday 22.
September 2024!
In music and text, author Anna Kleiva and musician Vilde Tuv have worked to reflect the surroundings and create a condensed experience of a particular eye blink in the middle of summer – jonsok.
A central idea is that when the sun turns, everything is wide open.
Now they come to a Telemark where the last remnants of summer heat can linger, and the colors of nature reflect the colors of a jonsok fire.
Tuv and Kleiva have taken their starting point in the city – in nature, climate and moods – which is specific to the Ørsta area.
The sun, the flowers and the bonfire are important elements, but the poem also draws on themes such as climate, community and unrest.
Musically, the work is composed of reworked field recordings from the area, electronics, flutes and vocals, performed in dialog with the poems.
“Solplomme” was recently published as a collection of poems by Oktober forlag.
It will be possible to buy the book before and after the concert.
“Solplomme” is part of the contemporary art festival Kunst i spire.
The festival is a collaborative project between the University of Southeast Norway, Notodden municipality, the Norwegian Industrial Workers’ Museum and Telemark County Council.
