In beautiful Øyfjell, just a short 15-minute drive from Åmot, there’s a 5.4-kilometer fatbike trail that takes you deep into the forest, where the snow is heavy on the branches and the road is wide and soft.
This amazing trail is maintained by dedicated local cycling enthusiasts, who volunteer to pull it in order to share this unique experience with all interested parties.
And best of all, the trail is free to use!
Activity information
Start your adventure by parking at the farmhouse or school in Øyfjell.
Cross the road and follow the farm road over the bridge, and you’ll quickly find the trail on your right.
Be sure to follow the dedicated bike path carefully, and avoid disturbing the ski trails that run nearby.
Before setting off on your trip, you may also want to check if the trail is freshly groomed by visiting Øyfjell Fatbike Trail’s dedicated Facebook page.
If you want to rent a fatbike or go on guided bike tours, you can contact Gygra for information.
Late winter also gives you a great opportunity to explore winter cycling on the glacier.
