Vinje municipality is one of the few municipalities in the country that has its own trail network for recreational snowmobiling. Snowmobile drivers must have a valid license, a driver's license for snowmobiles (class S), and the snowmobile must be registered. The driving license must always be with you when driving. The trails are opened as they are marked and marked.

Practical information

The trails are closed when ice and snow conditions permit, at the latest on the first Monday in May. Riding is allowed up to 30 meters straight out from the trails, where no prohibition is signposted. It is not permitted to drive parallel to the trails. The general upper speed limit is 70 km/h. With a sled without a passenger, the maximum speed is 60 km/h, and with a passenger a maximum of 40 km/h. All traffic is at your own risk!

In the event of a breach of the trail rules and the law, a penalty of up to NOK. 15 000.
