The Defense Museum in Vinje is owned by Vinje municipality and is operated by Venelaget for Vinje Forsvarsmuseum.

Our goal is to provide information about the fighting in Vinjesvingen in 1940, life during the war and to have exhibitions related to this.
We also aim to provide information about the history of defense in Vinje and West Telemark, with objects and exhibitions about people and operations that have been carried out in our region.
We have a special focus on informing young people in the local area. School classes are therefore very welcome.
The museum is open for guided tours during the summer, for more information and to book a guided tour outside the season, please contact us.
