The hike starts from Fiskestigen (road 854), about halfway between Hylland and Øyfjell.
Between Fjøsteigane (goat farm/cabin) and the parking lot of Vehuskjerringa you will find the starting point and signs for Furufjell.
This is a nice and easy hike where you don't need any special equipment other than good footwear. You start through marshland terrain, so mountain shoes or boots are recommended in the summer. In winter, you also need good footwear, but a pair of snowshoes may also be a good idea. A gentle climb all the way, and a fantastic view at the top.
