Vinje public library

The main library in Vinje is located in the center of Åmot, in the same building as the police. The entrance is on the opposite side. The branches in Edland and Rauland are in the schools.

The Vinje Center is a national center for poetry and journalism, based on the lives and works of Aasmund Olavsson Vinje, Aslaug Vaa, Tarjei Vesaas and Halldis Moren Vesaas. Through exhibitions, events and communication, the Vinje Center creates engagement around literature, language and journalism – for children, young people and adults.

Ski slopes in Vinje

Vinje offers good and well-groomed ski trails, and is at the same time a natural starting point for skiing experiences throughout the region – with a short distance to our ski destinations Rauland and Haukeli.

Trail network for snowmobiles

Vinje municipality is one of the few municipalities in the country that has its own trail network for recreational snowmobiling. Snowmobile drivers must have a valid license, a driver’s license for snowmobiles (class S), and the snowmobile must be registered. The driving license must always be with you when driving. The trails are opened as they are marked and marked.
